there is a high chance you may not know him. he's a guy who's referenced a handful of times throughout freeman's mind; a series made by Ross Scott (of accursedfarms) about gordon freeman, a 27 year old theoretical physicist and neurotic individual.

i really like him. i don't know why. my brain just kinda went 'yeah, that's the one' and here i am now.

ok i may have lowballed how many times he's been talked about. this was entirely ripped from his fandom wiki lol i did not wanna sift through All of freeman's mind. he is mentioned Once in civil protection but i have not seen that series so.. . yeag. apparently he's mentioned in felix's mind too, but once again, haven't seen it (although i am planning on watching it) and the quote isn't on his wiki :[. once i get around to watching felix's mind, i'll add it if it comes up!!

so who is this guy?

eddie is a background character who's mentioned several times over the course of freeman's mind! he actually has his own mind series, made by Matheson Warshawski!! here's episode 1! there's no playlist (that i know of), and there's four episodes. according to his fandom wiki, a lot of people don't like how eddie is portrayed in this series and view eddie's mind as his own unique character.

but honestly, i enjoy this characterization of him!! given the fact that eddie's known to be extremely paranoid, along with his criminal connections, him being a more reserved character just works for me. i also really like eddie being a stark contrast to gordon's loud personality. i love opposites. i'm also a sucker for the very specific trope of "character who looks like the straight man/self control of the friendship but is actually just as batshit as everyone else" and how i see eddie fits that perfectly.

headcanons/design notes

so my eddie design right. it was heavily inspired by nerdepic and newtafterdark on tumblr!!
i think he's a big intimidating looking guy, and i think he uses the fact that he's intimidating to his advantage.
also, smaller note, you can roughly tell eddie's age in my drawings based off the length of his hair! i think he started growing it out in his early 20's, before he and gordon met at MIT. his hair is really blocky n shapey when i draw him 'cause he's got a pretty specific hair texture to me-- it's curly but he doesn't entirely know how to take care of it, so it's sorta frizzy all the time. i think about this guy a lot can you tell

incredibly batshit sentence, but you know felix freeman's ass tattoo? the batman one? i think eddie did that. they were both drunk at a party and felix hopes and prays that eddie doesn't remember doing it. (eddie does remember, he's just waiting for the perfect time to strike and embarass felix by bringing it up)
